'The Notebook' TV Series Update; Plot Picks Up from 1940 Post World War, North Carolina; Will Allie Reconcile with Noah?

"The Notebook," the 2004 romantic drama film, is reported to be finally getting a TV series to be produced and aired by The CW.

The highly acclaimed "The Notebook" film, which is based on a novel of the same title, is said to be one of the best--if not the best--love story films released since the year 2013. Its fame even lingered on long after its box-office release.

"A Walk To Remember" author Nicholas Sparks is also the author of "The Notebook." Both him and movie director Nick Cassavetes have earned high praises for the film, alongside lead actor and actress Ryan Gosling ("Drive") and Rachel McAdams ("Mean Girls"). Now the fans of the sappy "The Notebook" love story will have another thing to look forward to.

The Crimson White Network is talking about making a TV series with a storyline based on "The Notebook," ScreenCrush reported. Although the project has not been given a go-signal yet, once it does happen, it is said to follow the plot of both the film and the novel.

"'The Notebook' series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters, Noah and Allie," says CW in an official statement to ScreenRant. CW continued to give details about how their budding relationship will be built as they make a life and a future together amidst all the racial politics, economic inequities, and the social mores of post-World War II. "The Notebook" will be set in 1940s North Carolina.

The TV series will include the crucial part of Allie Hamilton's mother dejecting the blossoming relationship between her and Noah Calhoun, Cinemablend also reports.

The CW will receive help from Warner Bros. TV in creating the series, along with Nicholas Sparks Productions. Theresa Park will produce the project, while the world-renowned author, Sparks himself, will stand as the executive producer.
