Finally, after years of pondering and guessing who has been tormenting the teenagers in the popular TV show "Pretty Little Liars," Tuesday's midseason finale revealed who "A" really was. Unfortunately, the big "A" reveal only made the show's fans furious, with a few stating they hated it.
Many viewers were outraged after they found out who "A" was, states Us Weekly. The midseason finale revealed that "A" is Cece Drake, who was formely Charles DiLaurentis. For non-fans, Charles was Ali's long lost brother, who transitioned into Charlotte and was going by Cece. And while a few claimed to understand and were happy over Tuesday's "Pretty Little Liars" (PLL) season 6A finale, majority hated it. A furious fan wrote on Twitter, "That's 5 years of my life I'm never gonna get back. Sc--- you PLL, you've ruined my life!" Another fan also wrote: "Hands up who is totally disappointed that #CeCeIsA? *every PLL fan raises their hand*."
One fan even wrote a petition asking the show to re-film the finale episode and to choose another "A," reports E!News. Aside from the online petition, many more disgruntled viewers took to Twitter to share their angst over the long-running ABC Family series. Some wrote that the "ending was not that great," it was "strangely disappointing" and that they "hated it."
Meanwhile, "Pretty Little Liars" executive producer Marlene King, recently sat down with Entertainment Tonight to talk about the mid-season finale. King revealed that they had "A" planned since the show's third season. Only a few changes were made to the story, but essentially the writing team and King already knew who "A" will be. King explained, "When 'A' stole the game from Mona, which we knew was going to happen... there were three people that I thought it should be... but then I think two episodes in to season three... I don't know how I came up with this idea but it was something that I came in and I pitched to the writers' room and everyone was like, "Yeah let's do it. Let's not make it those three, let's make it this person."'
King also shared that the next season will introduce a "lot of great stuff" and the five-year jump will make it a "fun" season.
"Pretty Little Liars" will return to ABC Family in January.
