'Baywatch' Movie Update: Zac Efron Teases Film Will Be Raunchy

One of the famous TV series during the 1990's is finally making its way into the big screen. "Baywatch" the movie will again show fans the drama and action that beach lifeguards would have to face. Actor Zac Efron even revealed that the movie will be "raunchy" and different from the TV show.

The former Disney star dropped the movie spoiler during an interview with Reuters Tuesday. The news site caught up with Efron while the actor was in London for the European premiere of his new movie, "We Are Your Friends." He shared with Reuters that the "Baywatch" movie would lean towards comedy and raunch. Efron added that the film will be different from the 1990's TV show which featured stars such as David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. He explained, "I think we're going like pretty big with it and I don't think it's going to be much like the old 'Baywatch' to be honest. I think we're going to kind of reinvent it in a big way, and he (Johnson) has big plans for it. I know he's very ambitious."

The Reuters report also mentioned Efron responding to a tweet sent by the movie's producer and star, Dwayne Johnson. The "Furious 7" actor wrote, "BIG NEWS: Welcoming my dude @ZacEfron to #BAYWATCH. Our movie will be big, fun and RATED R... Like me when I drink." Efron replied: "So stoked brother - baby oil for 2 plz."

Johnson seemed excited to work with "The Lucky One" actor and even shared a shirtless image of himself and Efron in Instagram, reports People. Johnson described the picture: "Clearly he's one unattractive sumb---- but he's a great dude who's ready to make something epic." Johnson also added how much the project meant to him. He wrote, "Over the past few years I've taken careful steps with this franchise cause we want to do it right - big, fun, global, sexy and bad ass mixed in with 'This is my beach b----' kind of RATED R comedy. We'll start shooting at the top of 2016 and one more thing.. just wait 'til you see who we cast for our girls..."

"Baywatch" the movie is currently in development but will begin shooting in 2016. Meanwhile, Efron's new film "We Are Your Friends" will hit British movie theaters on August 27.
