Matthew Crawley, played by Dan Stevens, and Lady Mary Crawley, played by Michelle Dockery, have at last joined up once again when Downton Abbey was honored with a Special Award by BAFTA on Tuesday.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Matthew Crawley was brought back to life and has rejoined the cast and crew of Downton Abbey for a night, when the show's outstanding worldwide success was honored with a special award by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). The celebration was hosted by British television personality Jonathan Ross for the show's six seasons.
The award for the period drama was presented by multi-BAFTA Award recipient Julie Walters in the Surrey theater. Only The Harry Potter franchise cast and crew have received a similar award.
Michelle Dockery posted a photo of the reunion on Instagram. She captioned the black and white photo:

Steven's character was married to Lady Mary Crawley but had died at the end of Season 3, setting off the outrage of the show's fans during its Christmas episode.
After leaving the show, the 32-year old English actor has been busy with various movies, including credits on "The Fifth Estate," "The Guest" and "The Cobbler." He will next be seen as Beast/Prince Adam in the 2017 live action adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast," which will be directed by Bill Condon of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 and 2" franchise. Stevens will star alongside Emma Watson, Luke Evans, Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen, Emma Thompson, Josh Gad, Stanley Tucci, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw in the adaptation.
According to Daily Mail, other current cast members in attendance included Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Joanne Froggatt, Jim Carter, Laura Carmichael, Penelope Wilton, Brendan Coyle, and Sophie McShera. Former cast members Lily James and Kiri Te Kanawa were also in the celebration.
The Emmy and BAFTA- award winning show's sixth and final season will air in late 2015 in the U.K., and on January 3, 2016 in the U.S. on PBS.
