'World of Warcraft 2' Release Date: Game Expansion to Come After 'Legion'? Blizzard Reveals Details

Despite speculations of the possible sequel for "World of Warcraft 2," its makers from Blizzard revealed that they have no plans of creating one for now. Executive producer of the game J. Allen Brack told IGN that he doesn't necessarily believe that sequels to massively multiplayer online roleplaying games (MMORPG) work, although he has candidly revealed that they're currently thinking about a possible expansion again after "Legion."

To quote Brack, "We're not actively working on anything on the MMO front that is not 'World of Warcraft.' We were completely dedicated to the Warlords of Draenor expansion and now the Legion expansion. We're even thinking about the expansion after that - we're already talking about what comes next."

However, some fans fear that there are already too many expansions in the 11-year old game. There are six optional expansion packs as of late.

There have been reports on the possibility of having a "World of Warcraft" real-time strategy (RTS) game as "Warcraft 4," but Forbes thinks that it'll take a miracle for this to happen. Game producer Tim Morten addressed the demand for more RTS games and mentioned that they will consider all feedback and that "anything is possible" for all of their games.

Fans believe that if ever the production for "Warcraft 4" begins, it will only come after developers' work on "Starcraft II."

Venturebeat reported a few months back that "World of Warcraft" has faced a massive drop in subscribers with almost 3 million lost. However, Blizzard reportedly still remains optimistic as the game still generates a lot of money for the game development company. This has led the company to think of new developments and updates for the game in order to gain or regain their followers.
