"Burnt" is an upcoming movie about 2-star Michelin chef Adam Jones who gets embroiled in drugs and the bad folks that inhabit the underworld. He is aiming to get to the top by grabbing his third star and lord it over a kitchen of his own but bad decisions haunt him and it will take all that he's got left and some help from the people he loves to make his last shot at greatness count. It's not exactly a new theme as far as movies go, but bring Bradley Cooper in as the protagonist and his charismatic presence will make it a film to watch out for, as described by slashfilm.com. It's certainly a vehicle for the 40-year old hunk to display his acting chops.
Talk of Oscars is premature for any movie or actor, but Bradley Cooper has indeed come a long way. He played a jerk fiancé in "Wedding Crashers", the cool Phil in the "Hangover" trilogy, and even became the voice of Rocket Raccoon in "Guardians of the Galaxy". But what many may not know is the fact that this is not the first time Cooper has played the role of a chef. In a wired.com post, the talented actor was still years out from The Hangover and just about to get off the Alias train for good when he appeared in the one-season wonder "Kitchen Confidential" on Fox.
The show was based on Anthony Bourdain's book of the same name, and Cooper starred in it as Jack Bourdain, a hard-living, drug-addicted rockstar young chef given the chance to take over a major Manhattan restaurant and stage a career comeback. The experience will surely help his cause but there's no doubt that fans and critics alike will compare which of his acts is better. If he does walk away with the Oscar, everyone can expect more powerful roles like this coming Bradley's way.
