'Heroes Reborn' Premiere Date & Spoilers: Two Episodes Debut In Toronto International Film Festival; Sylar Story Completely Ignored in The New Series

The highly anticipated limited series which follows the NBC hit show "Heroes" will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. According to The Wrap, "Heroes Reborn" will be released in the festival ahead of its television premiere, as the network announced on Thursday.

"Heroes Reborn," which is created by executive producer Tim Kring, has 13 episodes and will follow the lives of people who discover that they possess extraordinary abilities. It is one of the several programs that are being highlighted in the annual film festival and the program reportedly includes Q&A sessions with the show creators after the screening.

During the NBC party for the Television Critics Association, Kring told reporters that he considers this new show as "Heroes" Season 10 rather than Season 5. He added that the show picks up five years later after the events in the "Heroes" Season 4 finale.

As some of its cast members return like Jack Coleman, Kring explained that these characters are essential in explaining the mystery of what happened during the last five years. However, certain main characters will not return like Claire, played by Hayden Panettiere, and the infamous villain Sylar, played by Zachary Quinto.

According to Slash Film, Kring said that Claire's character had died along with the many other people and although the character has regenerative powers, he explained that the upcoming show will explain how Claire died despite her powers.

As for Sylar, Kring confirmed that the current show will not deal with his story. The producer explained that they wanted to have the "relaunch" as a start of something new, and it was important that it started with new characters.

"Heroes Reborn" will have its television premiere on Thursday, September 24, at 8 p.m. on NBC while it will have its early launch during the 40th Toronto International Film Festival which will run on September 10 to 20, 2015.
