A recent online report has revealed that "Star Wars: Battlefront" will likely include microtransactions. The leaked report was based on separate but related posts on Reddit. The posts suggested that the video game will have two forms of currency which will be used by the players to buy items or unlock weapons and abilities, Design & Trend reported on Thursday.
"If you look at this picture leaked from the game files, you can see a shopping cart and credits icon. This may mean that the game could have micro transactions. I think as a community we should try and confirm whether or not this game will before we jump to conclusions, but that's not to say I'm a little disappointed if it does," said a Reddit user named Jag783 in the Star Wars Battle Front thread, confirming the existence of transaction icons in the video game.
In the same thread, another Reddit user named Eckoro has speculated how microtransactions will work in the video game. The user posted the data dumps which were sourced from what he called as the "alpha files" and claimed that he found out how microtransactions allegedly integrated in the video game.
"Well if you closely look through the list you will find there are alternates to most of the Star Cards which are cheaper in credit price - this could however still be misinterpreted as they could be prices for items if a prestige mode existed," he said, as quoted from the same thread.
As Design & Trend noted, both leaks that were posted by the two Reddit users in the Star Wars: Battle Front thread are actually suggesting the possibility of credit currency and shopping cart for the "Star Wars: Battlefront" video game. The report also stressed that both Electronic Arts and DICE have declined to issue a statement on the said features that were leaked on the web. However, integrating microtransactions in the video game might reportedly have implications since shopping will be an option outside of shooting and attempting to destroy enemies in the title.
Other leaked details have also cited the existence of a Star Card system believed to have a connection as to how weapons and items will be earned by the players in the game's final version. There's reportedly an overwhelming proof that microtransactions will be integrated in the "Star Wars: Battlefront" video game.
