Game developer DICE has released on Thursday the specific details about the "Supremacy Mode," a new mode in "Star Wars: Battlefront" video game. In the Supremacy mode, gamers will reportedly have Rebels fighting stormtroopers, X-Wings versus TIE Fighters, and other heroes and villains vying for power and domination in what is being described as the video game's impressive multiplayer gameplay, a report from iDigitalTimes said.
"Supremacy centers on five control points scattered across the map. The objective is gaining control of all five, or the majority of them, before the 10 minute round is over. Each team starts the match controlling two of these control points, initially fighting for control of the fifth one in the center. After this is determined, the control points need to be claimed in a set order. This means the action will be taking place on two control points at a time - one for each team. An intense mode for players that know their way around the battlefront, Supremacy is ideal for those craving all-out multiplayer action," DICE said as posted on the Star Wars website.
DICE further explained that players will be able to experience different types of multiplayer modes in "Star Wars: Battlefront." These multiplayer modes include close-quarter battle situations, and all these clashes will reportedly happen on huge maps with ground troops, vehicles, heroes and villains joining the intense battle.
In Supremacy, many enemies will stage an assault in the control point of players who are on the defense side. Meanwhile, enemies of attacking players will "defend their control point from capture, ensuring constant frontline action."
"When you spawn into Supremacy, you don't have to move far to see a lot of friends - and enemies. You're thrown into a massive frontline, where your screen is filled with adversaries: infantry, Heroes, Walkers, and starfighters. You can prepare for very heavy and focused Star Wars action," said Lead Level Designer Dennis Brännvall as posted on the aforementioned website. He described the video game's action as both "immediate and intense."
To give players a "look and feel" of the Supremacy mode, he cited the Endor map, saying: "I really like Supremacy on Endor. With all the battles on ground and among the trees, the fights are always intense and fun. An Ewok village is the central point, and there are many different ways of getting into those huts. That kind of verticality is really interesting."
According to DICE, when it comes to map size the Supremacy mode will reportedly offer its avid players the largest fighting grounds in the "Star Wars: Battlefront" video game. The video game is slated to be released on November 17 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, Gamerant reported.
