The N.W.A reunion no longer remains a rumor. The surviving members of the legendary rap group come out to public once again to promote their new biopic "Straight Outta Compton" as reported in an article of Billboard.com. The fabled group has already made a big panel discussion with the film's director and cast. Kendrick Lamar, who is perhaps the most important rapper to emerge since N.W.A's heyday and who had been working with Dr. Dre even before he was signed, has been chose by Billboard to conduct the interview with the group. The young rapper was obviously excited to sit down with them and talk about the group's legacy.
During the interview, Dr. Dre asked Lamar if he had already watched the movie. The young rapper's modest answer was 'no yet'. Lamar further explained that he: "Didn't want to go to a preview and see it in a privileged setting. Would rather wait for it to come to the neighborhood and see it with everyone else. That way it'll mean the most to me."
The film, Straight Outta Compton, arises from the thirteen years in development purgatory. With its enormous $29 million budget, Universal pictures ultimately greenlit the project. The film's screenwriter, Jonathan Herman, and F. Gary Gray, the movie's director, orchestrated with close overseeing by Dre and Cube who will played by O'Shea Jackson Jr.,24, his own son. The movie captures N.W.A in its heyday with conviction and turmoil that characterized the rap group. N.W.A's heyday started in 1998 where Kendrick Lamar just turned a year old.
Now hitting theaters, Straight Outta Compton is seen to be a considerable success. In a news article by Consequenceofsound.net, the movie places N.W.A. members on the spotlight more than ever. Kendrick Lamar believes that the rap group will always remain the center of hip-hop. This is the reason why the young rapper considered the interview with the group a true honor and a one-in-a-million privilege.
