The New and Pricey Chromebook 13 By Dell Aims for "High-End"

Chromebooks have evolved from being a new player in the computing world to a budget computer. They feel a bit cheap, as NBC News writes, because they are usually cheap. It has been said that Dell is now focusing on breaking away from the current image that chromebooks have on the market with its new Chromebook 13. The news says that the New Chromebook 13 is a more high-end product with better build quality, improved specs and a higher price tag. According to a review by gizmodo, with the all the specs maxed, you will be looking somewhere in the $700 range. The verge says that the standard model of the new Dell Chromebook 13, which was announced today, starts at $399. The previous Chromebooks made by dell were somewhere around $300.

It was said that the standard model of the Chromebook 13 has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 1.5 GHz Intel Celeron processor. Furthermore it boots under 6 seconds, and offers around 12 hours of battery life. It is said to be one of the most premium Chromebooks ever made outside of Google's own Pixel, according to theverge.com. Moreover, it describes the Chromebook as a high-end-looking laptop with a slick glass trackpad that clicks nicely, a palm rest made of magnesium alloy, a back panel that features carbon fiber weave and aluminum bottom. Furthermore, the Chromebook is said to weigh 3.2 to 3.5 lbs. "It's not back breaking, but it's no Macbook Air either,"according to Gizmodo

Lastly, you can choose models with Celeron, Core i3, Core i5 processors-a bit gutsy for a Chromebook as NBC News reports. There are models with 4GB or 8GB or ram and storage options of 16GB or 32GB. It has touchscreen features but as Gizmodo puts it, "touchscreen option seems a little frivolous at this point."
