Massachusetts' The Old Homestead Gets A New Makeover

Provincetown, Massachusetts' the Old Homestead was given a whole new makeover by popular designers Phillip Cozzi and Kristin Hein from Hein+Cozzi.

According to a feature article on remodelista.com, Kristin was quoted as saying of the lovely new look ""We are 60 miles out into the ocean, the tides rise and fall 11 feet twice a day, the light rivals Greece, the sense of adventure and freedom is palpable." Her co-designer, Phillip also said, ""Everyone, I mean everyone, came-from John Wayne to John Waters, from Robert Motherwell to Norman Mailer...Provincetown is America's oldest active art colony and we love the sense of community. People pop by and wave, there are impromptu cocktail parties, we ride our bikes out to dinner, to the bank, to the grocery store."

The designers were able to restore the property's glory days with vintage chairs combined with carved Chinese stools, with an African bench in the living room area of the homestead. Kristin and Philip however retained the pine floors, wood beams, and an original brick chimney. Still in the same article, the Old Homestead is now a 2-bath as well a 2-bedroom rental that accepts weekly accommodations. Included are paddleboards, bikes, and a full fridge.

Theoldhomesteadprovincetown.com website shares the property's humble beginnings. It is nestled in the historical East End, with absolutely panoramic views of the Provincetown Harbor. The Old Homestead also faces the iconic Long Point Light and then to Cape Cod Bay. It is equally far from an average rental and is more than just an old place to rest after a long day. The Old Homestead also offers a uniquely different experience plus a quirky chill-out vibe, as well as a creative hub especially for those who longingly crave for comfort and beauty.
