During the Disney's D23 Expo in California, it was confirmed that Will Turner will be coming back for the fifth installment of the film. The role which is played by Orlando Bloom was absent in the 2011 "Pirates of the Caribbean" installment, "On Stranger Tides." According to IGN, it was back in 2014 that the talks of Bloom coming back for the fifth installment began.
During the recent event in California, Johnny Depp, who plays Captain Jack Sparrow, surprised the fans when he appeared in his famous costume. He reportedly acted as the drunken pirate and threw grapes into the crowd.
According to Business Insider, the fifth installment is titled "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," and the official description of the film reveals that Captain Jack Sparrow is going to be facing a group of deadly ghost pirates which is led by his old nemesis, Captain Salazar, played by Javier Bardem. It was reported Captain Salazar is on a mission to kill Captain Jack Sparrow as he tries to escape the Devil's Triangle. Captain Sparrow has to look for the legendary Trident of Poseidon in order to survive Captain Salazar's attacks.
Earlier reports claimed that the movie was supposed to be cancelled because Depp was constantly fighting with his wife, Amber Heard, and it was reportedly affecting his performance in the movie. According to Australia Network News, the movie was originally scheduled to be released during the summer of 2015.
However, the film has already finished its production last week in Australia, so it was confirmed that the movie will be released next year. Aside from Depp, Geoffry Rush will also reprise his role, and the movie will feature newcomers like Kaya Scodelario.
"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will be in theaters on July 7, 2017.
