'Fifty Shades Darker' Spoilers & Cast Rumors: Alexis Bedel To Play Leila Williams?

"Fifty Shades Darker" fans are still in the dark when it comes to the actress who will play the role of Leila Williams. Over the past couple of months, fans have been linking "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" star Henry Cavill to the role of Jack Hyde. However, there have been few speculations on who is fit to play the role of Leila or Christian Grey's (Jamie Dornan) former submissive.

According to Fashion & Style, "Gilmore Girls" star Alexis Bledel could give justice to the role of Leila in "Fifty Shades Darker. Fans of Bledel have since been petitioning for the actress to be part of the film. According to them, this is because Bledel could bring an aura of sophistication and mystery to the character.

Back in 2013, an anonymous fan posted a Change.org petition for Bledel to play the role of Anastasia Steele, which was later on given to Dakota Johnson. Now fans are hoping that Bledel could at least join the cast as Leila.

In an interview with Elle in 2012, Bledel said, "People definitely do have strong opinions about it. I guess when people really identify with a concept, they feel strongly about it."

Meanwhile, fans have also been suggesting that British supermodel-cum-actress Cara Delevingne should be cast as Leila in the movie.

In the novel written by E.L. James, Leila was described as a woman who had a mental breakdown. At one point, Leila even broke into Anastasia's house and pointed a gun at her.

Delevingne recently joined the acting industry, but has since then been given roles that allow her to express her personality. The supermodel is known for her strong personality and her desire to break down gender labels, which could make her a good choice for the role.

"Fifty Shades Darker" will be released in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017.
