Madeline Stuart, 18-Year-Old Model with Down Syndrome, Will Take on the Runway at New York Fashion Week

Madeline Stuart, a young model from Australia with Down Syndrome, is going to make history and change the face of traditional beauty standards as she walks in the most prestigious event in the fashion world in September.

The 18-year-old model first became viral in the world of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. She captivated the whole world with her extraordinary beauty and relaxing smile.

Stuart dreams of following the footsteps of her inspiration, Jamie Brewer, an 'American Horror Story' actress with Down Syndrome, and the first person with disability to walk the runway of New York Fashion Week.

It is with the utmost joy and pride that we announce Madeline Stuart's participation in #FTLModa #NYFW #SS2016...

"It is very exciting and it's going to take her from one level to the next," her mother Roseanne told Cosmopolitan. "I know Jamie Brewer did it in February, but she is a movie star, she's not a model. With Madeline, this is her career, so I think it's going to be a great platform for her," the proud mom added.

Since the sudden explosion of her popularity worldwide, it is inevitable for the two renowned beauties to meet up.

Stuart continues to clear the path to reach her dreams. She is the first model with Down Syndrome to land two New York Fashion Week campaigns, the first with athletic wear company Manifesta, and the second as the face of eco handbag brand EverMaya.

No more waiting required! The countdown is over! Today is the day we officially launch #TheMadeline on...

"We are absolutely thrilled to work with a talent like Madeline on our newest national ad campaign," Damian Graybelle, EverMaya's president, said in a statement. "All of us at EverMaya feel very strongly about creating a brand that is rooted in a spirit of inclusion and providing opportunities for those who begin life with barriers to success," said Graybelle.

Stuart is optimistic that her "modelling will help change societies' view of people with Down Syndrome." The 18-year-old also believes that "exposure will help to create acceptance in life."
