Just last year, Pink Floyd made a comeback by releasing their new album "The Endless River" after 20 years as per Consequence Of Sound, however the reunion appeared to be short lived.
As per The Music, David Gilmour the band's long time guitarist confirmed that the band officially broke up when he made a statement saying:
"I've had 48 years in Pink Floyd - quite a few of those years at the beginning, with co-founder Roger Waters, and those years in what is now considered to be our heyday were 95% musically fulfilling and joyous and full of fun and laughter. I certainly don't want to let the other 5% colour my view of what was a long and fantastic time together, but it has run its course, we are done - and it would be fakery to go back and do it again. Obviously I accept there are people who want to go and see and hear this legend that was Pink Floyd, but I'm afraid that's not my responsibility to me, it's just two words that tie together the work that four people did together. It's just a pop group. I don't need it. I don't need to go there."
The English rock band first started in 1965 having Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Roger Waters, and Richard Wright as the original band members. Their first successful album was "The piper at the Gates of Dawn" became a big hit. A new member, David Gilmour then joined the band after Syd Barrett left the band sue to deteriorating mental health.
The band shook the world as they took over the music industry with their hit albums. By 2013, the band was able to sell more than 250 million records world-wide. Their last concert was July 2, 2005 and that was their first after 24 years of taking a long pause.
