Just like in a Hollywood scene, four high school students were arrested after carjacking and kidnapping a federal agent who was vacationing with his family in Florida.
According to the reports, four teenagers have been arrested for carjacking and then driving around with a tied up Texas border patrol agent at the backseat. Local authorities described the event and suspects' actions as playing a dangerous game. On statement released by Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings and as posted by orlandosentinel, he said that;
"These high-school students were playing a dangerous game, and they got caught playing a dangerous game. If you are coming to our community with criminal intent, we want you to think twice about it."
The incident took place accordingly in an Orlando hotel parking lot, where during Wednesday night the suspect pistol-whipped, tied and robbed the federal agent while he was packing up his car. He was forced into the backseat and was held captive for two agonizing hours. According to foxnews, the ordeal ended only when the perpetrators left the car at a vacant drug house.
It was "the OnStar representative placed a call to the vehicle and heard someone screaming for help," according to foxnews. It was through such vigilance that Sheriff Jerry Demings and his men were able to catch the perpetrators after pursuit. Gregory McDonald, 19, Dante Askins, 18, and two other teens, 15 and 16, were taken into custody Friday according to MyFoxOrlando.
Now it is a challenge for authorities to determine whether the minors would be tried as adults. The minors are still being held at the state Juvenile Detention Center in Orlando, while Askins is in Orange County Jail held without bail. All four, including, Askins, are facing a case of armed kidnapping, carjacking and aggravated battery with a firearm.
And as for the federal agent, he is happy that he his still alive and with minor injuries being treated in the hospital.
