'The Voice' 2015 Season 9 Judges & Premiere: Rihanna Joins As Key Advisor; Selena Gomez Joins Team Gwen as Mentor

The celebrity mentors for Season 9 of the award-winning reality singing show "The Voice" has just gotten bigger. According to Christian Post, pop icon Rihanna will be joining the NBC show and will be featured as a key adviser for all coaches.

Aside from Rihanna, it was reported that some of the biggest names in the music industry will also be appearing on the show including Taylor Swift and Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin. These celebrity mentors will be helping the show's current coach/judges, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams.

Rihanna is no stranger to reality shows as she previously co-produced a show titled "Styled to Rock," which was about fashion designing. Her last involvement with NBC was during her promotional performance for her single "Diamonds" where she performed in "The Voice" Season 3 back in 2012.

According to reports, the show producers feel that Rihanna can influence the lives and the careers of the season's performers. In addition, it was reported that the show is excited to bring Rihanna in as she could be an incredible addition to the mentors.

Meanwhile, Variety revealed that Selena Gomez will be teaming up with Gwen Stefani for Season 9 and will serve as the singer's adviser. Stefani comes back to the show after one season of hiatus. The news was revealed on the show's Twitter account. Gomez, in an interview, expressed her admiration for Stefani and described her as a smart and creative person.

The other coaches have their own advisers too such as John Fogerty for Adam Levine and Brad Paisley for Blake Shelton's team. However, it was reported that Team Pharrell is yet to reveal their guest adviser.

"The Voice" will return for Season 9 on NBC on September 21.
