"Castle" is so close to its comeback for Season 8 and various spoilers have surfaced. In Season 8, reports claim that new things will be coming while some are going to say goodbye. It was also said that job changes may take Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) on a different path.
Penny Johnson Jerald, who previously played the captain, will reportedly be replaced by Beckett. It was earlier reported that Beckett won't be joining politics as she has chosen to accept the promotion as the next Captain. Inquisitr reports that Castle will also have a new job position as he steps up as the chief detective in Richard Castle Investigations. Reports reveal that he will be taking on clients and will also look into what really happened during his disappearance.
There will also be new additions and comebacks for Season 8. Entertainment Weekly reports that "Neighbors" alum, Toks Olagundoye, will appear as the free-spirited independent investigator Hayley Shipton for Season 8. Showrunner Alexi Hawley revealed in an interview that this new character will work with Castle in investigating cases, and her dynamic and fun character will complement the way Castle handles cases. Reports claim that Hayley will be working more with Castle and will reportedly serve another purpose in Season 8.
It was also reported that Shipton will act as a mentor to Castle's daughter, Alexis, played by Molly Quinn. The showrunner revealed that Season 8 will also be about Molly growing up after playing the child for the past seasons. Now that Molly is 21 years old, she will reportedly move out of their home and start being an adult, and her relationship with Castle will surely change.
Meanwhile, Detective Ethan Slaughter (Adam Baldwin) will be returning for Season 8 as a series regular.
"Castle" Season 8 will return on September 21.
