The new Apple MacBook was revealed earlier this year and consumers were greatly impressed with the laptop's thin and light appearance, not to mention its Retina display. Unlike the MacBook Air, which was also updated just this year, the company is also dropping the "Pro" label, thus the up and coming device will be released as the 2016 MacBook.
The 2016 MacBook design is similar to the MacBook Air, which left consumers wondering if Apple is currently in the process of merging the MacBook line.
It is highly possible that Apple will set some level of consolidation in motion, perhaps in the near future, Tech Times reported. This is more likely since the same thing happened with the company's desktop line, the iMac. However, Apple might still release the MacBook Air next year, Mac Rumors revealed.
Apple is yet to confirm or deny the "New MacBook" rumors. Thus, consumers will have to wait for further details. Although not yet verified, it is believed that Apple is just waiting for the release of the new Intel Skylake processor before updating their line of laptops. Skylake is known for its quality performance and regular feature updates.
Intel Skylake processors feature the Intel HD 520 graphics. Specifically, the 2.3 GHz and 2.4 GHz chips are said to fit the low-end Apple laptops, while the 2.5 GHz and 2.6 GHz chips are more suited for the high-end devices.
The 2016 MacBook would-be processors are meant to increase CPU performance by at least 20 percent. It also boasts of better graphics as a result of its enhanced graphics performance. Further, the processor also equips the device with an additional battery life of 30 percent.
The 2016 MacBook will also be sharing its new features with most of Apple's 2016 releases. It will include a USB Type-C connector, a redesigned keyboard, as well as a Touch Force track pad.
