‘Mass Effect: Andromeda’ News & Release Date: Bioware Hints New Story and Alien Races; No Competitive Multiplayer for the Game?

On Monday, Bioware, game developer of "Mass Effect: Andromeda," has revealed new details about its video game. Bioware said that when it comes to combat, avid fans of the popular video game will be able to get a similar feel with that of "Mass Effect 3." The company has also confirmed that there will be no new gameplay that will be released soon for the "Mass Effect: Andromeda" video game, a report from Gamespot said.

Chris Wynn, senior development director of Bioware, said via Twitter that Bioware will likely introduce new elements in the video game. "There are some new elements that make it more dynamics, but overall similar feel [to Mass Effect 3]."

Aside from this, Wynn has confirmed that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will reportedly not feature some of the familiar faces from the company's previous "Mass Effect" video games. "Story-wise, it wouldn't make much sense," Wynn said as quoted by the aforementioned website.

It can be recalled that Bioware has earlier confirmed that Commander Shepard will have no part to play in the video game. Gamespot has enumerated specific details about the video game based on Wynn's revelations, which are as follows:

  • "Strong hint that there will be new alien races
  • Implied, but not confirmed, that there won't be competitive multiplayer
  • Bioware is in the midst of the casting process for voice actors
  • New gameplay footage isn't coming anytime soon"

Digital Spy, meanwhile, reported that the "Mass Effect: Andromeda" video game is distancing itself from the game's original trilogy. The report also stated that some elements from the original trilogy of the game such as the Mako vehicles and some races are expected to be featured in Bioware's "Mass Effect: Andromeda." The said video game is slated to be released in fall 2016 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
