Billionaire Purchases Australia's Most Expensive Mansion without Taking a Look at It

The Chinese really know how to spell luxury in many different ways! Australian-Chinese billionaire Chau Chak Wing purchased Australia's most expensive La Mer mansion without even taking a look at it.

The Chinese people may seem to be economically challenged at present, but one of their billionaires, chairman of the Kingold Group and Australian-Chinese billionaire Chau Chak Wing continue to purchase real estate properties overseas.

Australia's most expensive real estate property, owned by billionaire and Mariah Carey's billionaire boyfriend, James Packer.

The property is situated in the Sydney Harbor, occupying about 36,000 square feet in area, has six stories housing six bedrooms and bathrooms, a 20-car garage, a 20-seater theater, a gym, a sauna, an elevator and a glassed-in garden.

Initially, Packer was able to spend $30 million Australian dollars for the lot area, on top of spending another $40 million Australian dollars in creating the structured home.

La Mer Mansion, the property's name, is valued at 70 million Australian dollars, making it the most expensive real estate property in the continent, reported CNBC.

Recently, Wing decided to purchase a "much bigger" property for his family, wishing to move from his Syndey home which he has resided at since 1995.

Coincidentally, when La Mer Mansion was open for purchase, Wing grabbed the opportunity and purchased the property even without having to see it firsthand.

According to Yahoo! Homes, not that Wing did not care to check the property out, he was reportedly oblivious as to who the owner of the property was or how it looked. Given that he trusted his daughter WInky, the business manager of their family's Chinese newspaper, to have good judgment in finding his "much bigger" home, he let her handle the La Mer mansion purchase.

When a billionaire wishes to purchase a billionaire mansion, even the most expensive real estate property in Australia is not that expensive for Kingold Group's Chariman Chau Chak Wing.
