Our little Star Wars geek hearts are bouncing with joy as Disney announced its soon-to- be Star Wars- themed park in Disneyland at Anaheim, California and Walt Disney World Resort at Orlando, Florida.
According to marketwatch.com, each park will have 14 acres and will feature attractions with Star Wars creatures and designs.
Walt Disney Chairman and CEO, Bob Iger said "We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single themed land expansion ever. These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance."
He also added that the new attraction will be "occupied by many inhabitants; humanoids, aliens and droids. The attractions, the entertainment, everything we create will be part of our storytelling. Nothing will be out of character or stray from the mythology."
Disney's new feature will also have snack bars where guests can "run into all the droids and roaming beasts 'Star Wars' is known for" together with characters from the existing "Star Wars" saga and upcoming installment "The Force Awakens."
According to variety.com, Disney has already released the concept art that boasts a "never- before- seen locale" for the guests to enjoy.
The new 'Star Wars' attraction will also let its visitors to experience controlling the Millennium Falcon "on a customized secret mission" and experience the "climatic battle between the First Order and the resistance."
Iger also noted that they are currently looking for people to fill in characters and to staff the different new attractions.
The partnership between Walt Disney and Lucas Film started since 1987 when Disneyland opened and offered the Star Tours.
In addition to the new expansion, Disney will also offer an interactive feature called Star Wars Launch Bay that will let the guests to get a sneak peek to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" exhibits and behind- the- scenes. Special merchandise and food offerings will also be up for sale for true- blue Star Wars fans.
