'J.J. Abrams' Shares His Experiences in Directing 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'

Everyone's anticipating the next installmet of the 'Star Wars' movie series, the "Force Awakens. For this movie, Jeffrey Jacob or popularly known as J.J. Abrams got the honor of directing the said film.

He was one of the kids that got inspired during the '70s when the first batch of Star Wars' movie installments were shown.

According to an interview with ew.com [Entertainment Weekly], Abrams first saw the movie when he was just 11 years old. He said, "It didn't look like anything I had ever seen. It looked real, and it was a combination of everything great: It was really funny; it was romantic; it was sweeping and epic; it was incredibly intimate; it had an amazing message and impact. It was an incredibly powerful experience."

He also shared that George Lucas' film showed him "what medium was capable of contributing to culture. "

Being a director and given the honor and keys for the Star Wars' realm, J.J. Abrams admits that he feels pressure on how he will be able to give justice to the movie.

In a report by people.com, Abrams said that he always keep in mind that the film die hard fans will be expecting his masterpiece as an addition to their 'bible'. He said "You had to forget it was a religion for so many people, because in the moment you had to do the work,"

The fact of working with iconic actors and and his idols didn't make the job any easier. He shared that "I think one of the biggest challenges on a daily basis was not considering the person you're talking to as someone who was an icon when you were a kid, or for me when I was a kid."

Despite of all the hard work and pressure that he experienced, Abrams is thankful for having the opportunity of directing it. He said that "I think the most surprising thing was how much fun it was to do this movie. I knew it would be a lot of work and I knew it would be crazy stressful, but I didn't necessarily expect it to be as much of a joy to do."
