"Chicago P.D." is coming back for Season 3 after NBC announced its renewal back in February. According to Christian Post, Sergeant Henry Voight (Jason Beghe) will be facing a shadowy character from his past.
Voight is known as a cop who does not always follow the rules just to obtain justice. Reports reveal that looking into Voight's past will give viewers a glimpse of the cop's old habits and they will discover whether such bad habits have followed him in his present life.
With the revival of Voight's old habits, it was reported that the cop will reflect on his old self in Season 3. It was also said that the new season will reveal how Erin Lindsay's (Sophia Bush) past and present is intertwined with Voight.
In season 2 Erin faced some tough challenges and she turned in her badge after her failed attempt to confront some corrupt narcotic cops. She is reported to turn to her old drinking habits as she is faced with guilt and depression, and reports reveal that the scriptwriters are having a hard time putting her back in the force.
Erin's mother, Bunny, played by Markie Post, will also be making another appearance in Season 3. It was reported that she will be comforting Erin during her darkest times. Movie News Guide revealed that when an important person in Erin's life is kidnapped, she will be forced to come back to her old self to save that person.
Meanwhile, it was announced earlier that Clancy Brown from "The Flash" will be joining the show for Season 3 as Eddie Little, a prisoner that Voight had met in jail. Little is still in contact with Voight as Voight uses him to gather information from the inside.
"Chicago PD" Season 3 will premiere on NBC on September 30.
