Sony is reportedly gearing up to release its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z5. Sony Xperia Z5 is slated to be released on September 4 to 9 during the IFA 2015 Event in Berlin, Germany. A new variant of the rumored smartphone dubbed as the Xperia Z5 Plus or Z5 Ultra will also be released on the same month based on the new leak which surfaced this week, a report from Android Authority said on Wednesday.
According to the report, Sony is expected to feature the "4K X-Reality" technology in its Xperia Z5 product line this year. Sony's X-Reality technology can be viewed as the company's way to take a lead against its other rivals in the mobile industry. The reported technology will be used for content upscaling in the company's high resolution TV range. The 4K X-Reality technology comes with a companion software, the 4K X-Reality Pro Software, which is the same application used in Sony's 4K TV for its classy HD content.
The report added that Sony is planning to release three models which includes a super-sized Xperia Z5+ (S70+), a regular Z5 (S70) and a smaller Z5 Compact (S60). Aside from the 4K X-Reality technology, other Xperia Z5 variants will also reportedly feature a limited 1080p resolution and Sony's Triluminos and Prevision Color technology.
Meanwhile, Christian Today reported that a recent rumor suggests that Sony Xperia Z5 Plus/Ultra model will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor. The report also hinted that Sony is expected to roll out the Xperia M5 handset. Sony Xperia M5 is said to feature a 5.5-inch display screen with 1080 x 1920 resolution. Inside the phone is a Mediatek MT6795 processor with 3 GB of random access memory.
