Software giant Microsoft on Tuesday has announced an update for Xbox One. The Microsoft Xbox One now supports streaming in 1080p and 60fps, which will provide a high resolution for games. The new feature is to be tied to the recent addition of the Xbox Live network runnning Windows 10, a report from iDigitalTimes said.
"When Windows 10 launched around the world on July 29, we brought the best of the Xbox Live gaming network to Windows 10. Windows 10 was built with gamers in mind, integrating some of the most popular Xbox features such as Game DVR, screenshots, Avatars and Achievements. We also included new functions like game streaming from Xbox One to Windows 10 PCs. The response from fans has been amazing and starting today, that feature gets even better with support for streaming games in 1080p/60fps," said Microsoft in a press release.
Microsoft said that with the new update, Xbox users will be able to stream video games from an Xbox One console to any Windows 10 devices with 1080p/60 fps. The company said that the new streaming feature will work best if a home network has adequate bandwidth that can stream the video games seamlessly.
In order to use the new feature, Xbox users will have to access the Xbox app from Windows 10 by clicking Settings > Game Streaming. The user needs to set the desired video encoding level to "Very High," which will then allow streaming of games from Xbox One to Windows 10 PC.
"The team also updated the Xbox app on Windows 10 to address some issues around sign-in, localization and game streaming reported by a subset of Windows 10 users. The Xbox app on Windows 10 should automatically update to the new version when it becomes available in the Windows Store. Once you receive the update, your version number should be 8.8.15003.00000 or higher," explains Microsoft.
Slashgear reported that Microsoft has updated the Xbox app in Windows 10. The Xbox app now has the ability to right-click another player from a user's friends list. The update will also allow users to easily send a message or invite others to a party. A turn on or off option for notifications for party invites and a new grid view for My Games with an alphabetical list of titles have also been integrated in the recent Xbox One August update.
