Amazon is changing its service and the first to see it? The city with the golden arch, Seattle. It is not fully declared but a recent news by time.com states that, "Amazon has not yet officially announced its new 'Flex' service, but a sign at the location gives a hint as to what it may be."
However, that is not the case. GeekWire reported that it has discovered a confidential new Amazon facility that's getting ready to launch Prime Now one-hour delivery in the Seattle area, as well as a completely new service called "Amazon Flex."
There are indications that the company's new Kirkland, Washington facility will implement the Amazon Flex as the new method of distributing packages, that even the customers can pick up by themselves. One major standout of this new service will bring a smile to those wine and liquor lovers out there. According to a previous report by time.com, "Liquor license applications filed in the three Seattle area Prime Now locations suggest that they will be the first in the U.S. to offer a one-hour alcohol delivery service."
This is the desire of Amazon.com Inc. with its perpetual pursuit to speed delivery. Amazon.com Inc. aims at turning the U.S. into a nation of couriers, and the "Amazon Flex" might just be the beginning of it all.
Seattle and its prime locations will the first to benefit the launching of this new and faster service of Amazon. Amazon also aims at using a crowd sourced package delivery method, but it's not totally guaranteed if Amazon Flex is related to that idea at all.
The service is good, but it does not come cheap or available for all. According to a recent report by geekwire.com, "The service is only available to Amazon Prime members and costs $7.99 for one-hour delivery and is free for two-hour delivery."
