‘Shark Home’ of NBA Star Gilbert Arenas Yet to Find Buyer

Fond of sharks or fan of "Jaws"?

Then there's a property that might interest you. A property in Great Falls, Virginia, complete with a curved shark tank has come on in the market. An open house is being held on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The house belongs to NBA player Gilbert Arenas and is listed for $3.5 million.

According to Curbed.com, the house in Great Falls has a shark tank, suede covered walls in the movie room and a grotto next to one of the largest Disney-themed private swimming pool. Other features of this house include seven bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms, nine fireplaces and a four-car garage.

Arenas bought the home in 2003 for $2.87 million not long after becoming a Washington Wizards with a $111 million deal. With all this money, Arenas started upgrading the pool area to its present state, complete with a grotto, hot tub, wet bar and water slide. According to The Washington Post, it cost him $1 million.

The shooting guard also spent $100,000 on landscaping, and $6,500 a month to feed and look after his sharks.

Arenas was staying in the house up until two years ago before he moved to Florida, leaving behind his on-and-off girlfriend Laura Govan and their four children.

But even with all the exciting features, the property listed by Donna Karpa of Long and Foster, has been in the market for months without attracting a buyer.
