Authorities are almost close in identifying the suspect of the gruesome recent Bangkok bombing.
The international community was shock about the bombing in the heart of Bangkok last Monday which left 22 dead bodies and 120 others injured. Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, as reported by BBC, considered the attack as the "worst ever attack" experienced by Thailand. He later added that;
"There have been minor bombs or just noise, but this time they aim for innocent lives. They want to destroy our economy, our tourism."
The said incident led to different theories and speculations on who were the persons or group involved with the said attack. According to a report, it is less possible for a Thai to be a perpetuator of the said bombing; a bbc report states that;
"Thai culture is Buddhist and values religious tolerance. Such a religious location is not the kind of target any Thai rebel would choose, which suggests to me that those behind this attack may not be Thai."
On the similar report, other suggested that it might be a work of Muslim related separatist group. Others also mentioned the Muslim Uighur minority in China who were said to be unhappy because Thai government deported Uighur refugees back to China. But over the speculations of the perpetrators, one thing still remained unchanged, which is the failure of the government's intelligence work.
In the effort to quickly resolve this heinous crime against the country, Thai authorities scavenge through CCTV footages that would give some clarity over the suspect's identity. As of now, official were able to obtain a CCTV footage of a man in a yellow shirt leaving a backpack in the Erawan Hindu shrine where the incident happened. In the said footage, bbc described that;
"In the new footage, he is shown carefully and deliberately removing his backpack inside the shrine, getting up without it and immediately leaving the scene. The spot where he was sitting is precisely where the bomb went off a few minutes later, says the BBC's Jonathan Head in Bangkok."
