The fourth season of "Orange is the New Black" will introduce actress Shannon Esper as Alana Dwight. According to Deadline, Esper will play the role of a new inmate who is very meek, nice and someone who is impossible to hate. This is why her other inmates will certainly wonder what kind of crime she committed which landed her in jail.
Meanwhile, fans of Laura Prepon's Alex and Taylor Schilling's Piper are curious as to what will happen to the pair's relationship. In Season 3, Piper decided to end her relationship with Alex before the latter was almost killed. Just recently, it was revealed that Alex will continue to be featured in Season 4, so fans are curious whether or not she will get back together with Piper.
In an interview with Speakeasy, Schilling said that she's having a lot of fun reprising her role as Piper every season. Prepon, on the other hand, revealed that her character Alex will play an important role in straightening Piper out.
"She sees through all of Piper's BS. And that's why they're such a cool relationship. And I think that Alex knows that she's putting it on - it's not really her," Prepon told the publication.
In Season 4, Piper will turn to the dark side, which is a pretty new concept for her character. In the past, Piper has been regarded as one of the shyest and simplest inmates at Litchfield prison. However, several years of staying in the facility will reportedly change her.
"I think she's really going to keep scrambling to keep her sense of self intact. When it feels like it's bottoming out, there's when you try harder to control things," Schilling said.
Meanwhile, it is still unclear whether or not Ruby Rose's character Stella will continue to come in between Piper and Alex in Season 4.
"Orange is the New Black" Season 4 will premiere on Netflix in June 2016.
