‘Under the Dome’ Cancelled on CBS? Season 3 DVR Ratings Offers Hope for Possible Renewal

"Under the Dome" Season 3 ratings continue to hit an all-time low and while a cancellation for the CBS sci-fi drama series is almost out of question, the Mike Vogel-led show has suddenly gained one of the highest ratings in DVR data. Does this give hope for the series to be renewed for another season?

The future of "Under the Dome" remains uncertain, as the sci-fi drama series continues to drop in viewership in Season 3 as compared to its ratings from Season 2. While rumors are already rife about the show being cancelled in its home network, a recent report from Carter Matt seemingly offers hope for some fans and viewers who are still wishing to see the series go on for more seasons.

"Under the Dome" reportedly received a 1.0 live rating, which increased by almost a 100 percent when figures from DVR data are included. The outlet noted that this might "make matters a little bit harder to figure out" if CBS will take these DVR figures into account when thinking of the show's future.

Will these DVR ratings be enough to renew the show for another season? Probably not. The outlet pointed out that the show's renewal lies on its live ratings and not on DVR ratings.

Meanwhile, the official synopsis for the upcoming episode of the series titled "Legacy" from Christian Today revealed that Big Jim and those who are not under Christine's spell will be teaming up with Aktaion and their leader, Hektor Marin in an attempt to overthrow Christine.

Hunter, on the other hand, will be coming across some documents that will offer more information about the Dome and its effect to its citizens. Barbie will also join the Resistance after being released from Christine's spell. The outlet pointed out, however, that while Barbie has seemingly joined the Resistance, the promo clip showed a different story. Barbie can be seen going back with Eva, who seemed pregnant in the clip.

Should CBS renew "Under the Dome" for another season? Did Big Jim make the right decision of joining forces with Aktaion? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
