FX's anthology drama series "Fargo" will be coming back for Season 2 and fans should expect a star-studded cast and a whole new feel on the show. FX CEO John Landgraf revealed in a statement that "Fargo" is following the footsteps of its fellow anthology series, "American Horror Story," and will feature a brand new cast and story for Season 2.
However, according to Den of Geek, not everything in the show will be new as the creator, writer and executive producer Noah Hawley will be coming back for Season 2, and he gave hints on what to expect in the upcoming season.
The creator revealed that the show will take place in a different time period which is 1979. He also added that the show will have a brand new cast but will still run for 10 episodes.
FX has just revealed a full trailer for "Fargo" Season 2. The season 2 trailer features a 1970's soundtrack and also a group of gangsters with silly mustaches with its signature black comedy.
In the official synopsis of Season 2, it was revealed that the show will travel back to 1979 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Luverne, Minnesota. It will revolve around the story of a young State Police Officer who recently got back from Vietnam and investigates a case which involves a local crime gang and a major mob syndicate.
This young police officer is named Lou Solverson and will be played by Patrick Wilson. Ted Danson is Hank Larsson, Lou's father-in-law who will be helping him in investigating the case. Kirsten Dunst will be playing a beautician in the small town and she is described to have big city dreams. Bruce Campbell will play Ronald Reagan, and Jean Smart will play Floyd Gerhardt who is the head of a crime family.
The Guardian reported other cast members which include Nick Offerman as a town lawyer and Kieran Culkin as Jean's youngest son Rye.
As of writing there is still no official release date for "Fargo" Season 2 but it is expected to come back sometime in September.
