Disney is said to have been developing a film based on its theme park attraction called, Jungle Cruise. And in order to make this upcoming film more exciting they tapped the writer-director duo John Requa and Glenn Ficarra together with the reported lead actor Dwayne Johnson to be part of the film.
After experiencing exhilarating helicopter ride on the movie San Andreas and hitting the road with maximum speed on Fast and the Furious 7, the WWE and WWF champion turned movie star, Dwayne Johnson aka "The Rock," would then experience a jungle cruise ride.
Jungle Cruise, as a Disneyland ride, boasts its retro adventure vibe, transporting theme park goers into an African setting such as the Nile River and Congo River, encountering beast of the wild such as rhinos and hippos along the way. And it is now the task of the duo John Requa and Glenn Ficarra to create a cinematic story for one of Disneyland's original attractions.
The last news which involved Jungle Cruise for a movie project was way back on 2011 when Tom Hanks and Tim Allen were supposed have a contemporary live-action adventure/comedy together with the writer of the movie Shrek. However such ideal project was never actualized for there was no director ever attached to the supposed project.
Plot details of Jungle Cruise are yet to be revealed but the said movie is in its early development. And for now the lead star, Dwayne Johnson, is busy with other projects. For the actor is currently immersed shooting the action comedy film Central Intelligence for New Line and soon to shoot Baywatch with Zac Efron early next year. There is also a plan for him to star on the adaptation of the video game Rampage under his San Andreas director Brad Peyton. And with all these schedules in line, it would still be unclear where to fit Jungle Cruise in Johnson's busy Schedule.
