Android Marshmallow Coming Soon, Gets Google Statue

As expected during this time of the year, Google will begin rolling out its new mobile OS called Android Marshmallow. The search giant is well known for using popular sweets and desserts as name for their latest Android software upgrade. Past versions include Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop and of course, the latest Marshmallow. In a report posted by brecorder.com, the latest Android system was first announced in May during Google's I/O event. The company said that among all the Android versions they've released, Marshmallow would be the most advanced and better in all around performance. They say new technology has been incorporated to it that will boost overall performance of phones and devices.

In the same post in brecorder.com, the new Google OS will feature Doze which is a new technology that has the ability to sense if the device has been idle for a certain amount of time. It automatically limits background activities of apps which can significantly reduce power consumption, thus increasing battery life. Marshmallow will also be compatible with USB-C which according to Google can give up to five times charging time speed as compared to the current micro USB chargers that come standard in all Android devices. It will also get a support for fingerprint identification which some devices already have but this time it will mean more hardware makers can have access to the same technology.

Meanwhile, as confirmation of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Google just rolled out a statue out on its lawn of the Android mascot carrying a marshmallow. It joins all the other Android versions that have gotten their own markers on Google grounds. This is contained in a post by phonearena.com which also mentions that "the tradition of naming Android builds after desserts in alphabetical order started with version 1.5, named Cupcake. Subsequent updates included Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb (tablets only), Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat and Lollipop."
