‘Grand Theft Auto 5’ Update: Upcoming Patch To Feature Rockstar Editor, Will Arrive On PlayStation 4 & Xbox One

Rockstar has announced a new feature called "Rockstar Editor" for "Grand Theft Auto 5." The said feature is expected to be available via the video game's upcoming patch for Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

This means that the feature will no longer be exclusive to the game's PC version, and players will be able to record, edit and share videos created from "Grand Theft Auto V" and "GTA Online" using Rockstar Editor, a report from Gamespot said on Thursday.

"The upcoming launch of the Rockstar Editor for PS4 and Xbox One as the next update to 'Grand Theft Auto V' and 'GTA Online' means the next Rockstar Editor Contest will be the first one with entries across all three platforms - so the creative competition will be fiercer than ever. Stay tuned for info about that contest and forthcoming update," reads a Rockstar announcement posted on its website.

Gamespot reports that Rockstar Editor was made available on PC in April 2015. The feature is said to be composed of "a comprehensive set of tools ranging from filters and camera modes, to audio tweaks and depth of field effects can also be accessed from within the game's campaign and 'GTA Online' to customize content."

According to the report, a Director Mode will also be included which allows gamers to create their own "machinima" and at the same time stage sequences using characters, props, and locations from "Grand Theft Auto 5." As of press time, there's no official release date yet for the upcoming feature.

"Although the game maker did not reveal any specific release date or release window for the forthcoming DLC update for 'GTA 5,' it is believed that the next title update will introduce Rockstar Editor for PS4 and Xbox One platforms, while also offering new game content for both story mode and online mode," International Business Times noted.

The source mentioned that Rockstar Editor is being proposed for a summer launch, and the next DLC update will come out by the end of August or before September 23. It was reported that fans can expect new game enhancements and additional features specifically in stunt and regular races and death matches.
