After father and son Ice Cube and O'Shea Jackson Jr.'s successful N.W.A. biopic "Straight Outta Compton," reports by The Hollywood Reporter indicated that they are expected to participate in the upcoming thriller movie "L.A. Riot." However, Ice Cube's publicist revealed in a public statement that the two have not officially bound themselves in partaking a role in the said upcoming movie.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the recent blockbuster film "Straight Outta Compton" that spoke about the famous N.W.A. rap group's climb to success in the music industry during the late 80's earned nearly $100 million dollars to date. Two of the TV personalities that partook parts in the movie included Ice Cube and his son O'Shea Jackson, the latter portraying his own father's character in the film.
Recent reports indicated by The Hollywood Reporter mentioned that the father and son are also going to star in the upcoming thriller movie "L.A. Riot."
Despite rumors of the two tagging along in another film, Variety reported that Ice Cube's publicist recently declared that he and his son are still not bound to partake in the upcoming film.
The statement is as follows, "Ice Cube and O'Shea Jackson Jr. have no plans to commit to this project at this time. Any speculations or rumors that suggest that they are confirmed are simply untrue."
Ice Cube, though, is expected to star in the upcoming sequel of "Ride Along" alongside Kevin Hart this coming January 2016, reported Variety.
"L.A. Riot" under Lionsgrate productions would incorporate the life of an ex-convict who tries to protect his son when his area of business is raided and looted by authorities. This led the source to formulate speculations that due to the recent success of "Straight Outta Compton" in the Box Office, two of the actors would fit perfectly in the upcoming movie.
Despite the reports and how fitting the father and son Ice Cube and O'Shea Jackson Jr. would fit into the upcoming movie "L.A. Riot," fans and movie enthusiasts would need to wait for further developments of the upcoming movie since, at present, the two actors have not committed themselves into acting on it.
