‘Street Fighter 5 Beta’ Update: Game's PS4 Beta Will Be Rolled Out In Europe, North America & Asia; Features New Currency System & Matchmaking Algorithm

Capcom has announced that the Playstation 4 "Street Fighter 5 Beta" will be rolled out in Europe, North America and Asia. The company is planning a series of region-specific stress tests for the fighting video game.

The first series will begin in Europe on August 20 from 4 p.m. UK time until midnight. The second series will be on August 21, again from 4 p.m. UK time until midnight, a report from Gamespot said on Thursday.

According to the report, the results of the European beta test will determine the specific dates and times for both North America and Asia region-specific tests. The video game is scheduled to be released in early 2016.

It was said that aside from the network tests, "Capcom intends to test out its new currency system and matchmaking algorithm." IGN reported earlier that Ryu, Chun Li, Nash, M. Bison, Cammy and Birdie will make up the roster of characters for the "Street Fighter 5 Beta."

"When we are confident with the results from this test, we will share the dates and times for North America and Asia's region specific tests, and once we have successfully completed each regional stress test, we will announce the dates and times of the official global beta test. The global beta test will still take place for the previously promised 5 days of time, so the regional stress tests are just an added bonus," Capcom explained, as posted on its website.

Eurogamer reports that Capcom's "Street Fighter 5 Beta" was originally slated to launch on July 23. However, the company's beta test ended up to be an enormous failure after players began to report problems.

The technical problems encountered by players resulted in a repeated reset and reboot of Capcom's servers. The beta was apparently pulled out because it did not work. However, the company has assured its fans that it "will be extending the beta period to make up for the issues we've been experiencing."
