Apple users in the U.S. can now download and play the role-playing (RPG) game "Final Fantasy 7." Square Enix has released the video game for iOS devices via iTunes Store. Priced at $19.99, avid fans of the video game will be able to embark on the adventure of Cloud, Barrey and Tifa using their smartphones and tablets, a report from International Business Times said on Thursday.
According to the report, the iOS edition of the game has special features which include "an option to turn enemy encounters off on the world and area maps and a Max Stats command to become all-powerful in the blink of an eye."
Aside from these, players can enjoy the game using either a virtual analogue or a fixed 4-way digital control pad. Players can also customize their characters using the material system. Using the material system allows the players to have an endless combination of both spells and abilities.
"The iOS release (no word on Android yet) is similar to the PC version of the game, which offers slightly improved graphics from the original 1997 PlayStation version. It also features tweaks to make the game more easily playable on mobile devices, including an overhauled touchscreen control scheme that makes it easier to move characters around," CNET reports.
Square Enix earlier has reportedly released the "Final Fantasy Portal," an application that includes the popular card game from "Final Fantasy VIII," the "Triple Triad." Players can download the application as it is now available for both iOS and Android.
Using the app allows the players to gather cards from other major "Final Fantasy" video games. "Both the Final Fantasy Portal app and the Triple Triad game are free to play, but Triple Triad has a stamina system that only lets you play so often unless you spend real-world money to fill your stamina bar," stated the aforementioned website.
