The First American Idol and pop star Kelly Clarkson did not just perform her heart out in her concert in Staples Center but also shared all that is dear to her including the happy news that she is going to be a mother again soon. In a report posted in newsday.com, the 33-year old singer who is married to Brandon Blackstock, gushed "I was not planning on announcing this, but . . . I'm totally pregnant." And when the crowd responded with a cheer, Clarkson cried and added "That was not how I wanted to announce that....My makeup artist is backstage just like hating me." The pregnancy comes just after a year since giving birth to her first child.
In the same post, it was mentioned that the announcement came while Clarkson was in the midst of her performance of her hit song "Piece by Piece", which she shares is about her relationship with her father. It was in October 2013 that the "Breakaway" singer married her talent manager Blackstock. Their daughter River Rose was born on June 12, 2014 and Clarkson is also a stepmom to Blackstock's two kids from a previous marriage.
In a post in cnn.com, Staples Center management said it was the first time somebody having a concert announced news about a pregnancy and they were happy that it was Kelly Clarkson who did it while doing her "Piece by Piece" Tour. They sent out a tweet immediately saying "We think that is a first for an artist to announce that she is pregnant during a show from our stage!" Clarkson first became famous in the first American Idol singing contest in 2002. She won the title and eventually became a household name all over the world. Among her biggest hit songs are "Heartbeat Song", Since U Been Gone", "Stronger", and "Because of You".
