She is currently thought to be the next "Kate Moss" in the modelling industry, so her decision to walk away was really a big shock. After Cara Delevingne, 23, announced that she is quitting modelling, everyone seemed to think that it was because she wanted to focus more on doing films, after all she had been doing well in her movies. But in an exclusive report by the ultimate source, it was Cara's bestie Kendall Jenner who was behind it. The modelling career is said to have been causing Delevingne some mental distress that is why Jenner, 19, has been telling her to quit.
HollywoodLife.com was told exclusively by a source, ""Her friends are very supportive. They think she's doing the right thing. Kendall has been one of her biggest fans. She and her whole family pushed Cara to make the jump and quit modeling in order to focus on acting." Furthermore their source also said, ""They told her she should believe in herself the way they believe in her. Kate Hudson was another person that encouraged Cara to put all her focus on acting. She gave her a lot of confidence in herself and her talent."
In a recent interview with The Times, she talked about how the industry took a toll on her, saying, "I was, like, fight and flight for months. Just constantly on edge. It's a a mental thing as well because if you hate yourself and your body and the way you look, it just gets worse and worse."
Cara also revealed in another source that aside from being mentally and physically exhausting, she felt she was exploited during her early years in modelling. "I am a bit of a feminist and it makes me feel sick," she said. "It's horrible and it's disgusting. You start when you are really young and you get subjected to... not great stuff."
Being a model herself, do you thing Kendall gave Cara a good advice?
