"Well, Clarice - have the lambs stopped screaming?"
This is one of the famous lines from the suspense thriller that captured the imagination of many, "The Silence of the Lambs". Now, the infamous home where Buffalo Bill had placed the Senator's daughter in the well, where the moths were, is now up for sale. According to a report from tmz.com, the home is now available for just $300,000.
The three storey Victorian home was the setting where Buffalo Bill had created his skin suits from victims he had abducted. It has five actual bedrooms and was built back in 1910. It was chosen as the location for the film back in 1990 and very little has been changed since then.
The property is located just an hour outside of the city of Pittsburgh and has other amenities aside from its film pedigree. It has a swimming pool as well as a caboose that currently is used as the pool house. The home is surrounded by a wrap around porch.
Aside from the home, there are other memorabilia from the 1990 Best Picture winning movie set in the house. Amongst them are photos of the then homeowners taken during the actual filming at the home. There is also the book where the movie was based where director Jonathan Demme and actress Jodie Foster signed. It reads, "Thank you so much for letting us use your beautiful house for our scary movie."
What is excluded from the home, which was in the movie, according to a report from domain.com.au, is the dungeon where the serial killer executed his crimes. The owners of the home, Scott and Barbara Lloyd, had decided to put up the home for sale after owning the property for nearly four decades.
The home became part of the movie after a producer knocked on the Lloyd's front door. Mrs. Lloyd recalls, "They were looking for a home in which you entered the front door and had a straight line through. They wanted it to look like a spider web, with Buffalo Bill drawing Jodie Foster into the foyer, into the kitchen and into the basement."
