Kobe Bryant is back in the game! He recently posted a selfie on Instagram while he practiced shooting in the court after recovering from a rotator cuff injury last January. Will he make it to the playoffs against Minnesota Timberwolves this coming October 28?
Last January 28, 2015, Kobe Bryant underwent surgery to remedy his rotator cuff injury. Since then, his doctor, Neal ElAtrtache, advised him to lay off basketball for nine whole months before getting back into the game, according to Bleacher Report.
ElAtrtache revealed at ESPN.com about Bryant’s progress on his injury stating, “I expect Kobe to make a full recovery, and if all goes as expected, he should be ready for the start of the season.”
Bryant also experienced another injury last 2013-2014 when he missed the Los Angeles Lakers’ regular-season opener when he was still recovering from an Achilles injury. He was then unable to participate in the games since April of that year but made a fast recovery. As a result, he was able to get back in the game in December that same season.
Is Bryant bound for a fast recovery this time around?
Apparently, he might be. Bryant showed signs that his recovery from the rotator cuff injury is going well as planned.
Last Saturday, he returned to the basketball court and shot some hoops. In fact, he was happy to be back and posted a selfie on Instagram after playing in the court:
Clearly, his doctor has given the ‘go’ signal for him to play ball once again. However, there are no indications that revealed his ability to play this season, especially to participate in an extreme competitive game. Nonetheless, Bryant seemed to be making progress despite his condition.
As reported by CBS Sports, LA Lakers’ first game for the preseason would start this coming October 4 against the Utah Jazz. The regular season, however, would start this coming October 28 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Now that Kobe Bryant is back to conditioning himself to play in the basketball court for LA Lakers once again, he is hoping that he would be able to make it in time for the playoffs this season hinting a fast recovery from his rotator cuff injury.
