Actor Kiefer Sutherland sold his West Village penthouse yesterday for its full asking price.
The house was barely on the market for 24 hours, according to The New York Observer, and was sold for $17.5 million, more than twice the $8.25 million the "24" star paid for it back in 2008.
The townhouse was listed by Meris and Kenny Blumstein of the Corcoran Group.
The Blumstein's told The Observer that the "24" star listed the house at 763 Greenwich Street for sale earlier this year, when it was still in contract. The buyer, who is unnamed, closed in on the deal on September 11.
The 4,830-square-foot house features Greek Revival-styling, five-bedrooms, a sauna, and a roof deck with an outdoor kitchen, The Observer reported.
According to The Observer, the sumptuous townhouse befits a man who once left acting to ride the rodeo circuit. The home has masculine features such as an outdoor shower with leather furniture that compliments the many fireplaces in the house.
Sutherland is most famous for his role as Jack Bauer in Fox hit television show "24." Sutherland is the son of actor Donald Sutherland, and is currently starring in "Touch," another Fox drama about a man with an emotionally disturbed son.
