"Criminal Minds" Season 11 is set to premiere on Sept. 30 in CBS. As reported before, Aisha Tyler will be the newest member who will join BAU. After Jennifer Love Hewitt's departure on the show, the co-host of CBS talk show "The Talk", Aisha Tyler is now sporting a new hair for her role as Dr. Tara Lewis, known to be the forensic psychologist. It was rumored that Tyler might be the new love interest of Dr. Spencer Reid.
Tyler revealed some tidbits of her role in "Criminal Minds" said in an article of EW, "The people in the BAU are analyzing these unknown subjects trying to catch them, but my character analyzes them after they've been caught to make sure they're competent to stand trial."
She also talked about wanting to transform her look for the roles as she is expected, "to run, wear vests and to hold a gun." She also said in the article regarding her character, "She's someone who has gathered a lot of evidence about the psychological makeup of the sociopath and she's now bringing that knowledge into the field to help catch bad guys."
Cartermatt also notes that her character will bring on a new treatment for the show. As they said, she might add personality and humor to the series.
"Criminal Minds" Executive Producer Erica Messer also said that viewers will expect that Tyler's role will do great contribution to BAU. Messer said also from EW, "She brings a different skill set than anyone else we've had. Once we've done our job and the bad guy is put away, she's seeing what makes them tick once they aren't hiding and running anymore. It's really a cool sandwich to what our team does. It's been a fun skill set to bring to the team, and one that we never thought we needed, but now that we have it, we love it."
