Samsung Tablet 2015: New Tablet Dubbed 'Tahoe' Features 18.4 Inches, Full HD Display, 8 MP Rear Camera & More

Earlier this week, Samsung was rumored to be working on a new tablet dubbed as "Samsung Tahoe." The rumored tablet is said to measure 18.4 inches and feature a full HD display and an 8 MP rear camera, among others. Various online reports suggest that the rumored device will have mid-range specifications, a report from iDigitalTimes said.

According to Sam Mobile, Samsung's rumored tablet will be powered by Google's Adroid 5.1 Lollipop. The tablet is also expected to feature a TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, an octa-core 64-bit 1.6GHz Exynos 7580 processor, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage, a microSD card slot (supporting up to 128GB cards), and a 5,700 mAh battery. The second camera will be 2.1 megapixels, and its physical dimensions will be 451.8 mm wide, 275.8 mm tall, and 11.9 mm thick.

"A tablet with an 18.4-inch display isn't unheard of, but if Samsung really is building such a device it's unlikely to be targeted at mainstream users. Panasonic's 20-inch ruggedized Toughpad, for example, would be too big for most users, but the company instead markets it as a tool for people who need large displays on the move, such as salespeople making a presentation, or architects visiting a build site. A big tablet from Samsung might fall into this professional devices category as well, although the choice of Android instead of Windows suggests more of an entertainment focus. Either way, we'll have to wait see if the company can persuade users that bigger is better," The Verge noted, suggesting Samsung's rumored tablet might be used for business purposes.

Sam Mobile reports that as of this writing, there are no additional details given by the company regarding the final name of the rumored tablet or its tentative release date. Meanwhile, aside from the rumored tablet, Samsung is reportedly working on another tablet, this time powered by Microsoft Windows 10. The said tablet is said to likely feature a 13nm Intel Core M chipset and an S pen, among others. Samsung has yet to issue an official statement to confirm if all these rumors are true.
