'Divergent' Movie 'Allegiant - Part 1' Spoilers & Plot Rumors: Tris & Four To Continue Their Relationship In The Alternate Ending?

"Allegiant" fans are still hoping that Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) will continue their relationship towards the end of the trilogy.

Although book author Veronica Roth already confirmed that Tris will die in the movie, some fans still believe that there's a chance for an alternate ending. This means that fans are urging Roth to come up with a second version of "Allegiant" that will feature Tris as a survivor.

According to Movie News Guide, Roth previously contemplated on writing an alternate ending that will feature a happier conclusion to the trilogy. Unfortunately, Roth realized that giving Tris the chance to survive wouldn't be realistic.

"The other options weren't doing the real justice to her story. The idea of her settling down after saving the world was not good enough, and it didn't feel good," she told MTV News.

Roth added that fans shouldn't be surprised with the fact that Tris would die in "Allegiant" because the character has already experienced a kind of death in "Divergent" and "Insurgent."

"At the end of the first book, she almost experiences death. She's in that water tank. She gets saved at the last second by her mother. At the end of the book, she kind of plays with the idea of self-sacrifice by letting Tobias almost kill her. Like, 'I'm going to sacrifice myself for him or whatever' and that's not quite right, so she lives..." she said.

However, Roth has not yet responded to Tris and Four's fans urging her to write not only an alternate ending but a different version of "Allegiant."

Meanwhile, the filming for "Allegiant - Part 1" already concluded last week, so Woodley, James and the other cast members are currently on break. Following a short hiatus, the cast members will start filming "Allegiant - Part 2," which will be released sometime in 2017.

"Allegiant - Part 1" will hit theaters in the United States on Mar. 18, 2016.
