Unique Homes For Sale: Luxurious Log ‘Castle’ in Michigan Now on Sale for a Worthy Price of $4.2 Million

Some children may have seen how amazing structures were built by Lincoln Logs. With an approximate value of $4.2 million, you can only imagine how many set of logs were used to build this luxurious log cabin-slash-castle in Northern Michigan. This three-bedroom house is a rustic retreat located next to a private lake amid 345 acres. Built in a vast area of 8,145-square-foot, this impressive house features an extensive use of local stone and custom-made front doors. Aside from the main house, there are also two two-bedroom guest cottages, a shooting shack, a six-stall horse barn, and other structures that truly make this real estate property a wonderful place to live.

Based on the report of Realtor, the listing agent, Dee Dee Blizard, was quoted as saying: "It is so hard to really capture it all in photographs and video. It's so amazing when you're actually out there. What's amazing is the detail, the detail that went into every little thing." An example of this is about the making of the stonework, which took a local mason a year and a half to finish. This luxurious log cabin features great amenities that include a massive farm sink, double ovens, and granite counters with embedded Petoskey stones all around the kitchen.

Blizard notes that the front doors were made with potion salvaged from a century-old Petoskey church. Behind a large staircase that was built from a tree is a wall of slab with rapids that slide into a koi pond. The diversion room located upstairs features a full kitchen, and all the bedrooms are equipped with a washing room and a bathroom. The home office features bookcases that were designed to follow the bend of a wall.

"It's such a pleasing area, we could see it being a bed-and-breakfast," says Blizard, as quoted by the Economic world. The beautiful and secluded location of this log castle is only half an hour from Traverse City, and three and a half hours from Detroit.
