AMC presents 'Fear the Walking Dead,' a companion show to its hit 'The Walking Dead'. The said companion show premiered on August 23, 2015 in the same network that brought the hit zombie series. Unlike the first zombie apocalypse that has obliterated most of civilization in the east, all these gore and blood spatter will unfold in the west as described by the source. Moreover, unlike the "Walking Dead" where Rick Grimes immediately encounters a huge flock of Zombies, "Fear" instead will have a slower pace to get there. "We don't go full zombie until the end of season 1," says Dave Erickson, the shows creator. "We wanted the beginning to be more about the shark you know is in the water, but you don't see."
Most zombie stories are expected to be the same with zombies appearing here and there all the time and the main characters constantly on the run. Therefore the source says that the "Fear" creator is rolling the story out more slowly than zombies lurch which will truly make the viewers feel that it is indeed a companion and not a clone or a pale imitation of the original "Walking Dead," which will return for its sixth season in October. It has been reported that Erickson admits he's taking something of a gamble as the show runner for "Fear the Walking Dead".
Kim Dickens, who plays the show's early focal point Madison Clark, says, "The viewer knows more about what's coming than the characters do." To begin with-don't worry it won't be a spoiler, a so called "virus" starts to do strange, petrifying things around L.A. and suddenly two troubled families turn into a single functioning one, talking about fate. In contrast to "The Walking Dead," where Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) woke up from a coma and found his world no longer existed, "Fear the Walking Dead" starts with a world where there is still electricity and some functioning elements of technology.
