'Chicago Fire' Season 4 Premiere Date & Spoilers: Boden Gets A New Boss; Will Casey and Dawson Get Back Together?

As "Chicago Fire" returns for Season 4, the new cast members joining the Firehouse 51 crew were recently revealed. Entertainment Weekly exclusively reported that Fredric Lehne will be joining the cast in a recurring role.

According to the report, he will be playing Deputy District Chief Ray Riddle who will be the new grumpy fire chief and above Boden's (Eamonn Walker) new boss. The character was described to be "hard charging" and he is also aiming for the top spot to become the Fire Commissioner, and he does not care if the Firehouse 51 will be damaged in the process.

Aside from Lehne, "The Vampire Diaries" star Steven R. McQueen will be joining the cast as a new firefighter. According to Fashion & Style, he will be playing the role of Jimmy Borelli who seems to have a rough start blending in the Firehouse 51 crew.

With the new characters of the show, showrunner Matt Olmstead also hinted some of the ongoing challenges and stories to be featured in Season 4. In the previous season, Casey (Jesse Spencer) has gone missing and will be probably be framed for the murder of a dead woman left in his place.

In addition, Dawson (Monica Raymund) just found out that she is pregnant with his child. Olmstead revealed that if Gaby may be really pregnant, she may be reassigned off her post and given a desk job instead.

Meanwhile, fans reportedly loved the amazing chemistry between Casey and Dawson and are waiting for the two to get together. According to Design & Trend, there is a huge possibility that once Casey learns about Dawson's pregnancy, the couple might get back together. Olmstead revealed that the pregnancy news will help Casey deal with his traumatic experience because of his kidnapping.

"Chicago Fire" will be returning for Season 4 on NBC on October 13.
